Night of Shine on Dec 8th

This picture is actually five of our Angels spelling out the word "SHINE"
Pretty cool, huh?!

Ohhh, I am so excited to announce that on Wednesday, December 8th, The Angel TEam, along with Tim Horton's, will be sponsoring our very first "Night of Shine".  From 4-8pm we will have Angel TEam bags of hope available for pick up and to use for the holidays.  All you have to do is come in between those times and get a bag or two.  We're just asking for a donation to cover the costs of reproducing the bags.

The pick up location is Tim Horton's, National Road, Wheeling, WV (across from Sheets).  Remember these bags can be used by your women's group or individually.  It is a great way to spread the love of Christ to someone who needs hope and encouragement!

Bags are traveling throughout the nation as far as Texas and also into Ohio and Pennsylvania. . .send us a picture or video archiving the way you are distributing your bags of hope!

"The Shine Campaign" Officially Launched

Our women's ministry team is bursting at the seams about a recent launch just in time for the holidays! The Angel TEam has just put into motion "The Shine Campaign".  Most simply put, The Shine Campaign is this. . .an opportunity to SHINE YOUR LIGHT into a world that needs hope and love. We have chosen to mass produce what we're dubbing, "Bags of Hope", to be distrubuted throughout local communities and also nationally.

Already, just in the past month, we have heard stories of Angel TEam Bags of Hope being filled and given to an after-school program helping disadvantaged youth, a young woman who is homebound, teenage sisters whose father recently passed away, a man with cancer, and the list goes on. These bags are not only for those in need, but can also be filled and given to a person as a thank you or just to say, "I love you".

Here is a thank you note from a young girl who recently received a Bag of Hope:

"Thank you for surprising me with the gift bag on my porch. I love pajamas and wear them all the time. I use the hair clips everyday. My hair is growing back after surgery and I'm glad to be able to use them again. I'm saving the gift cards for now until i see something my family needs. We have family game night and enjoyed playing the game you got us. Thank You very much for thinking of me and making me feel special! I greatly appreciate it!"

Soooo...get your thinking cap on and decide who needs a little spark of hope this holiday season.

SHINE BRIGHT!

Shine

Today I finally decided to begin posting on my blog. This statement, as simple as it may seem to you, really has an underlying meaning. I have actually been creating this blog for over a month now and every time I decide to begin posting, something inside of me says, "Don't start yet. You're not capable of blogging. Other people have hundreds of posts, and you will only have one." Blah, blah, blah.

I have struggled many times in my life with an insecurity of letting my light shine. So as I prepared my message for Ladies Night, I was reminded of what scripture says about me -- that I have been made for purpose, and I will be the first person to tell you that God has a plan for your life. But my mind enters the picture and attempts me from taking a first step. So with all of that said, I have decided to post (on my first blog) the following speech that has really inspired me to begin.

Let this inspire your life as well. Hugs, Linda

Speech by Nelson Mandella:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." Nelson Mandela
